Chocolate fudge that’s easy to make

During the festive season, I love making a wide variety of homemade goods. From cookies to cupcakes, the options are endless. And this chocolate fudge is so simple to make. In no time, you’ll have a delicious treat to put into boxes (or festive bags) to give to friends and family. They’ll be so impressed with how decadent the chocolate fudge tastes. What’s great about the fudge, is that you can change it for different occasions. Want it for valentines day? Add some dried-strawberries and heart-shaped sprinkles on top! How many ingredients?!

You may be shocked to find out how many ingredients this chocolate fudge uses. Three. Yes, you heard me right, three. The only ingredients you need to make this super simple sweet is condensed milk, good quality chocolate, and butter. Of course, if you want to flavour it, you can add a little dash of flavouring, but I find it to be perfect without. When it comes to the choice of chocolate, I enjoy using milk chocolate, but 55% or 70% chocolate also works really well if you want something on the darker side. Even though making the base fudge uses only three ingredients, you can also use extra toppings such as dried fruit, sprinkles, or even nuts. The choice is up to you!

Equipment I use

The equipment that I use is fairly straight forward. An 8 x 8-inch tin, a pan to melt all the ingredients down, and a spatula to stir everything. An extra tool that I find super helpful in making this fudge is an offset pallet knife as it really helps to smooth the mixture in the tin. But if you don’t have one, don’t worry, using the spatula will still work fine. You can also melt everything down in 30-second bursts in the microwave if you prefer, but I find it easier to just melt everything in the pan (plus I always get SUPER paranoid about melting a large number of ingredients in the microwave… don’t ask). Ingredients
  • 305 ml condensed milk (1 tin)
  • 30 g butter
  • 525 g milk chocolate*
Instructions
  1. Butter and line the tin, with excess paper coming out the top. This will help to take the fudge out later.
  2. In a pan, add the condensed milk, chocolate, and butter. On a low heat, melt everything together while stirring continuously and the mixture is nice and smooth.
  3. Once the mixture is ready, quickly transfer to the tin and spread out evenly. Don’t worry if some bits don’t fully “flatten”, it’ll just give the fudge a more homemade look!
  4. Sprinkle over the sprinkles (if using) and pop the tin with the fudge in the fridge. Leave to chill until firm, about 2 hours (or overnight).
  5. Once firm, pull the fudge out of the tin and slice up. You should manage to get at least 25 pieces.
Recipe Notes

Tip: the fudge will be good at room temperature in an airtight container for 2 - 3 weeks, so it’s perfect to make in advance. Can also store in the fridge in airtight container.  Chocolate tip: If you prefer something darker, you can use a 55% / 70% chocolate.
